Lyrics - Ants

20150610 Ants

Just one, one of the ants in the hill,
One of the steps on the treadmill,
One of the tiles in the elevating wall.

Towards anonymously hopeful me,
Pushing away from the ordinary,
Permanently living temporarily.

My ladybird spots are only six,
And that doesn’t give me much to mix it up with.
Perhaps, yes, I’ve flown here from afar,
But I’m no wonder yet.

I blink, I’ve fallen asleep on the train,
Missed my stop all over again,
And I find myself in unfamiliar terrain

Everyone else knows where to look,
They’ve read the secret column of that book,
And know exactly where to cast their hooks.

My ladybird spots are only six,
And that doesn’t give me much to mix it up with.
Perhaps, yes, I’ve flown here from afar,
But I’m no wonder yet.
